Mandar Vaidya

Mandar is a business leader, advisor, coach and teacher, with diverse experiences across management consulting, leading businesses, teaching and coaching. He enjoys learning new skills, especially outdoors, and is both, an avid reader; and a movie buff.

Mandar has worked at Oyo since 2019, first as CEO of Oyo’s Hotel businesses outside India (SEA, ME & Japan), and most recently as CEO of Oyo Vacation Homes, in Europe. Currently, he also serves as Independent Director on the board of Cipla, one of India’s largest Pharmaceutical Companies. Before joining Oyo Mandar spent 2 years teaching a problem-solving course at the Young India Fellowship of Ashoka University. He has also worked as an independent coach and advisor. His first corporate job was at McKinsey & Co, where he worked for 15 years (2002-2017), the last 7 as partner. He set up and led McKinsey’s Hospitals practice for Asia and co-led their Healthcare practice for India. He also led the Delhi office of McKinsey for 4 years.

Mandar is a medical doctor, and an MBA. He completed his MBBS from the Sir JJ Group of Hospitals & Grant Medical College, post which he did a short stint as Medical Officer In charge of PHC Tondgaon. His Masters in Management degree is from the Jamnalal Bajaj Institute of Management Sciences.

He lives in Gurgaon with his wife Anita, and son Rishi, who is 5.
